Open Art Data
Hoping to make provenance research easier by bringing provenance texts together in public datasets for analysis using advanced digital tools. Focus is on European artworks created before 1945 and acquired after 1933. Many of these artworks have provenance gaps for the Nazi era or false provenances that cover up these gaps. The digitization of museum collections and the introduction of structured data have opened the way for the use of knowledge graphs, natural language processing, linked open data, semantic web, and deep network analysis. ----------------------------------------------- see: Plunder, Restitution and the Challenge of False Provenances (video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61n1uZbASDE ------------------------------------------ Tracking Looted Art with Graphs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_U2TDZCGBs8 ------------------------------------------- Extracting Insights from Deceptive Data for Nazi-looted art.
