Zinckgraf (or Zinkgraf) as a Nazi Era Red Flag

The Zinckgraf name appears 55 times in the Linz (Hitler) collection database, usually with little or no information about the former  owner,  This portrait of a man ((Linz no 0408) by Moritz vonSchwind, was delivered to the notorious Maria Almas-Dietrich.
Friedrich Heinrich Zinckgraf ( 1878-1954), played an important role in the Aryanization of the Jewish-owned Galerie Heinemann and the transfer of Jewish art collections to Nazi officials and other collectors

1. A longtime employee of the  Galerie Heinemann (whose records during the Nazi era are now online) Friedrich Heinrich Zinckgraf took over the art dealership in 1937 when it was Aryanized by the Nazis.

For more on the history of the Galerie Heinemann see Birgit Jooss "Galerie Heinemann
Die wechselvolle Geschichte einer jüdischen Kunsthandlung zwischen 1872 und 1938" or Galerie Heinemann online, or  Lootedart.com.

According to Kunst durch Kredit: Die Berliner Museen und ihre Erwerbungen von der Dresdner Bank 1935, Hjalmar Schacht backed Zinckgraf financially in the Aryanization acquisition of the persecuted Heinemann gallery - in which Schacht quietly acquired a stake in the profits.

Excerpt from Kunst durch Kredit on Hjalmar Schacht's little known role as a financial backer for Aryanisation of firms in which he then kept a financial stake.

2. Friedrich Heinrich Zinckgraf is referenced in VIAF and Wikipedia but does not seem to appear in searches on ULAN.

4. There is a Zinckgraf in the Art Looting Investigation Unit Red Flag List of Names, mentioned in connection to the Bernheimer Gallery:

"Formerly bookkeeper and manager of the Bernheimer Gallery, Munich. Later became its owner. Sold to Voss for Wiesbaden."

However, according to the German Lost Art Foundation (Deutsches Zentrum Kulturgutverluste) this is a mistake. Bernheimer should read Heinemann.

Portrait of a young man with powdered hair in red velvet skirt - PROVENANCE "1787 creation of the painting by the artist. 1998 mention of the painting "Fürst Schwarzenberg" in the collection / privately owned Blumauer (Vienna). 1940 Purchase of the painting through the Gallery Zinckgraf by the seller Otto Schatzker, Vienna. 1940 Purchase of the painting by the Chancellery of the Galerie Zinkgraf for 15000.- RM. 1945 acquisition of the painting from the former depot "Linz" München, Arcisstraße 101 in the CCP Munich. Registry under number Mü. 7593. 1962 handover in the departmental assets of the Foreign Ministry for the furnishing of the ambassador's residence in Tunis. 2014 acquisition of the painting in the Equipment Storage Berlin of Foreign Office. The provenance research is completed. There are no indications that a NS - suggest persecution-related assets loss. However, because of gaps in the provenance history due to persecution asset loss can not be completely ruled out"

5. Many archival documents use the spelling Zinkgraf instead of Zinckgraf, so searches (for example in FOLD3 and Musée d'Orsay) should use both.
